Learn to be a confident sewer! A strong basic class in set-up, use and care of the home sewing space and machine, including related tools. .Students will learn various machine stitches, how to pin and cut patterns, and will choose one or two projects to complete by the end of the class term.

NEW OFFERING: My First Quilt: Step by Step
3 classes, 3 hours each
Fee: $150.00 plus supplies
In this project oriented class we will be making a small Windowpane quilt for décor our use – perfect for holiday gift giving. During the three sessions (with extra studio time available for consultation), we will go through the steps for successfully achieving your vision: fabric selection and prep, cutting squares and strips, accurate piecing and quilting, and detailed finishing. Proficiency with, and access to, a sewing machine is very helpful. Just bring your creativity and lots of patience and you will create your first quilt!

Fabric Art Wall Hanging Class

Learn to make a beautifully landscaped wall hanging for your home or as a gift. Students will learn to fuse materials, pick coordinating colors and create a beautiful landscape with our gorgeous batik fabrics. This is a NO sew class.

Yo-Yo's were a popular style for quilt making in the 1920's-1940's - tiny gathered circles of fabrics are gathered up at the edges and sewn together to create a three dimensional effect. Fun and easy to make - we've updated them to today's teens who are looking for a novel way to decorate bags, clothes or even make a quilt. This class we'll learn how to make yo-yo's and decorate a pre-made felted bag. Along the way learning basic hand sewing skills too.

Using acid-free, archival materials we’ll create a hand bound photo album together, using decorative papers and traditional bookbinding materials and tools. This class is great for beginners, as we will cover some bookbinding basics, including choosing materials, measuring, sewing, adhesives and finishing an album of your own
