Welcome

Welcome to Brooklyn Mercantile, a specialty home shop in the heart of Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood.  Brooklyn Mercantile was founded in 2007.

Summer seems to be speeding by! I hope you’re taking some time to actually enjoy it. To help you do that right in our own neighborhood, I’m excited to announce some great new events happening at Brooklyn Mercantile in the next couple of months.

It’s been a year since we first opened our doors and thanks to so many of you, what a wonderful year it’s been! Now we’re getting ready to launch The Studio at Brooklyn Mercantile – featuring a series of classes in sewing for all ages (and eventually all levels), jewelry making, creating personal books, specialized cooking, and all manner of creative projects yet to be dreamed up for you to learn and enjoy.

Our inaugural offerings include three Learn to Sew classes for kids, teens and adults taught by Fashion Stylist Clara Ronk who has over fifteen years experience in the print and film industry. Clara has been sewing since she was a child and won several design and sewing awards. She has worked in television, commercials and movies with well-known celebrities from Lindsay Lohan and Ashley Tisdale to Andie MacDowell and Jane Fonda. Clara is very pleased to be invited to offer classes at Brooklyn Mercantile this summer, and has created some fun projects to help you and your kids and teens to learn by doing.
